I'm a creative generalist with a huge interest in communicating information simply and concisely, without forgetting aesthetics. I'm usually surrounded by three drinks (one for hydration, one for caffeine, and one for fun) and two cats (Athena and Pokey).
I approach art direction with intention, using strategy as the foundation for every creative decision. Before diving into visual design, I work to understand the brand, its goals, and its audience. I always start by building out a system of reusable components early on to ensure consistency and efficiency as the project evolves. This way, the work not only looks great and serves a clear purpose, but also scales smoothly and delivers results faster.
Like the time I conceptualized, shot, designed, and executed a hiring campaign that filled 9+ specialized roles in less than a year. Or the time I refreshed a brand and every public touchpoint through a new brand identity system that constantly evolved for years.
I create with purpose, usability, and longevity in mind, which helps reduce costs and increase output. Using principles such as Dieter Rams’ approach to good design, I build the systems that follow best practices and industry rules to ensure the best possible product at every level.
Like how I shaped a waste disposal management system for one of Canada's largest iron mines through posters alone. Or how I’ve created websites for various clients nationwide both quickly and efficiently!
I see design and strategy as essential tools for solving communication challenges, influencing audience behavior, and aligning everything with business goals. By integrating strategic thinking into every project, design becomes more than decoration, it becomes a clear, purposeful language that drives meaningful engagement and delivers measurable impact across branding, digital platforms, and physical experiences.
Like the project where I created posters, booklets, mailouts, websites, socials, and ballots for an Indigenous community to choose their own path in energy sovereignty. Or how I created a physical 3D model to illustrate how a mega project would change the landscape of a mining community.
Design is more than just pretty looking things. It's purposeful communication that solves problems at the root. There's no other way to truly create solutions than approaching the process with empathy, compassion, and a little bit of obsession.
A lot of people ask about my thoughts on AI as well. The same applies - empathy, compassion, and obsession. Qualities a neural network is incapable of. It's a fantastic tool to work through quick problems, check yourself with, and ideate. But that's all it is - a tool. Nothing can replace that human touch when problem solving for other humans.
Factor emotions into the process. Think accessibility for all. Create for the users and makers of the product.

Ask why. Then why not. Meet people with different view points. Explore every solution and problem possible.

Work with printers to reduce paper usage. Write efficient code to save time. Design with the environment in mind.

Think end of product life from day one. Listen honestly to people's problems. Only create useful things.
